Building off of the enthusiasm for my original 324 cross stitch pattern, I was inspired to take the visual layout of 324 different DMC colors in a slightly different direction. This design, 324: The Sequel, uses the same DMC colors as the original. However, each of these squares is not made from cross stitches, but rather from straight stitches, backstitching, and various specialty stitches and patterns. This design does not fit neatly into a particular needlework category - some might call it a counted canvas work design, some might call it a blackwork design, some might call it "just a bunch of specialty stitches" - call it whatever you like! There are 81 different stitches/squares and each is used four times in the design.

The 24-page pattern includes full instructions with clear diagrams and pictures. The actual chart of the design is created using straight stitches - what many cross stitchers might simply call "backstitching."
