It’s a movement.  There’s no doubt about it.

Cross stitch designers have been sharing freebie patterns, most surrounding the theme of “be well and stitch”, during these most unusual of times.  You can find them by searching the hashtag #bewellandstitch and there seems to be more and more each day.  Big, well known designers and smaller, not-as-well-known designers – it is amazing to see so many have jumped on this bandwagon.

For days now, as more and more of these designs have passed through my view on Instagram and Facebook, I’ve been playing around with all sorts of ideas in my head…what could I contribute.  So many wonderful designs are already out there.  So, I offer up something a little different.  A blackwork design.   I’m calling it  “Just Stitch.”

We stitchers are So Very Lucky that we have this hobby/craft/art/passion to help us through these most unsettling of times.  For so many of us, there is just so much relief when we can sit down and JUST STITCH.

There is nothing that comforts me more than putting needle and thread to fabric or canvas. I've been stitching since I was a teenager, exploring all types of needlework - cross stitch, canvaswork, counted thread techniques like blackwork and Hardanger...you name it. All these years of stitching have led to my own design business. Most of my designs are cross stitch patterns, but I have also enjoyed creating beginner level canvaswork designs and blackwork patterns as well.
